PCS Move Calculator

What the government owes you for a permanent change of station — every entitlement, itemized.

Spouse and children who travel with you. Affects per diem and TLE, not DLA.
Official distance between duty stations, by the shortest usually-traveled route.
Temporary Lodging Expense — up to 21 days for a CONUS move, split between the losing and gaining stations however you need.
A second POV doubles the mileage allowance. It has to be authorized on your orders.

Five separate entitlements

  • DLA — Dislocation Allowance. A flat payment for the cost of relocating a household, set by grade and dependency status.
  • MALT — mileage for driving your own vehicle, at $0.235 a mile for travel beginning on or after 1 July 2026 ($0.205 before that).
  • Per diem — meals and incidentals for each authorized travel day.
  • TLE — lodging and meals while you are between houses, up to 21 days CONUS.
  • Weight allowance — how much household goods the government will ship. Not a cash payment, but exceeding it is charged to you.

They are claimed separately and it is entirely possible to be paid four of the five. Knowing what you are owed is the whole point of running this before you file the voucher.

Estimates only, at the CY2026 rates from the Joint Travel Regulations. Per diem and TLE use the standard CONUS rates — actual lodging is reimbursed at the locality rate up to the cap, so a move involving a high-cost area will pay more than shown. OCONUS moves, Personally Procured Moves (PPM/DITY), temporary storage, pet quarantine and non-temporary storage are not modeled. Your transportation office and finance office make the final determination.
